Basic and Advanced Obedience Training

Basic Obedience is on leash commands, and Advanced Obedience is off leash commands. You must master the commands on leash before moving to off leash skill.
Regardless of what a dog is intended to do, whether a pet companion or working police dog, all training starts with the basics. However, knowing how to adjust to the strengths and weaknesses of each dog to bring out their best, requires greater knowledge and training skills. It also requires a trainer who understands the canine mind without arrogance and who has a heart with much patience.
In The Basic Obedience Program dogs are boarded with us for 10 days and learn 12 commands.
In The Advanced Obedience Program dogs are boarded with us for 14 days and learn 15 commands off lead.
We have offered these programs since 1990 with tremendous success. 98% of all dogs complete these programs in the scheduled time frame, however, if we see a dog that needs extra time we will extend the training.
We accept puppies at 3 months of age with proof of vaccinations, up to any age, so far our oldest student was 12 years old. Our smallest student weighed in at 2 pounds and our largest student weighed in at 210 pounds. (The ones on four legs of course! We’ve even had 3 legged and deaf students who excel in our course!)
